What Is a PAN?
PAN stands for Permanent Account Number. It is a 10-character code issued by the Income Tax Department to a person or an entity. You need it to file income tax returns, open bank accounts, make large transactions, buy or sell property, invest, and register for GST. Once issued, the PAN stays the same for life, even if you change your address or city.
An Important Note Before You Apply
PAN is issued by the Income Tax Department. A CA helps you apply correctly. We do not issue PAN, and we cannot promise an exact delivery date.
One person can hold only one PAN. Holding more than one can attract a penalty. If you already have a PAN, apply for correction or reprint, not a new one.
Details must match your documents. Wrong or mismatched information can cause rejection or delay.
Beware of fake websites and agents that promise “instant PAN” or ask for extra payments. Apply only through official channels, and keep your Aadhaar and other personal details safe.
The government fee is set by the authorities and can change. Check the current amount on the official portal.
